On the very last day of the year, it is time to look back at an exciting year 2015.
2015 has been a year were I have started some new exciting projects and partnerships, now the boat is floating and I can´t wait to get a lot of wind in the sails in 2016.
My new private photo project is called Men & Horses; my mission is to photograph all the different horse cultures in the world, where they are still using horses as a part of their everyday life and work. This year I went to Iceland to photograph a very old Icelandic tradition, where the local farmers use the horses to ride up in the mountains and round up their horses and sheep’s. I spent 3 weeks in beautiful Iceland, riding more than 150 km to capture those beautiful horses. A special thanks to my “Icelandic family” at Arnarstadir, Ingolfúr at Dyrfinnustadir, Haukur at Hvammur 2, Ishestar, Anna Thora at Magical Horses, Runar at Hrimnir Saddles, all the beautiful horses and of course my partner JP who patiently followed me on this adventure.
In 2016 I hope to continue my project in America.
I love being on my own as a freelance photographer, but sometimes it is very good to be two. There for I have joined partnership with a very good and talented graphic designer, Jean Konbæk, together we have created Schmidt & Konbæk, where we offer image branding and image banking for all kinds of companies. We are really looking forward to help a lot of companies with their new image bank in 2016.
But my year 2015 would not have been as fun, if it has not been because of all my lovely clients who trusted me to create their new images, both for their companies and their professional portraits. I have been shooting everything from big corporate image shootings, to company portraits, to jewellery photos, to fashion and editorial portraits etc. No jobs has been to big or to small, but all jobs has been a lot of fun thanks to all the fun and interesting people who I have met and worked with during this year.
Thank you all so much for making my year 2015 fantastic and fun. I can´t wait to begin 2016, and I truly hope to see a lot of you in 2016.
